Hello! My name is Nick Charpentier - a Certified Drone Operator, GIS Technician, and Amateur Web Developer from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Welcome to my Geomatics and Web Development ePortfolio, built primarily with HTML, Bootstrap CSS, and jQuery.
My first introduction to GIS was in 2009 at University of Saskatchewan, sparking a long-standing fascination with mapping, remote sensing, and geospatial analysis. Now after over a decade of sustained curiosity in the subject, and going from "warehouse worker and forklift operator" to "2025 ESRI Canada Scholar", I take great pride in pursuing my dream of engaging in impactful, transformative work through a career in GIS.
In addition to GIS, I've been a student of front-end web development and server-side programming since 2019. While my strengths are found mostly in front-end development and responsive design, I remain engaged in improving my knowledge of back-end programming (especially Python and SQL), and demonstrating my ability to adapt to unique project requirements.
In this ePortfolio, I strive to demonstrate the depth of my experience in GIS as well as a thorough approach to web development, providing keen attention to detail and creative utilization in geospatial analysis, as well as client-side and server-side languages.
